Extension spindles for valves
AVK extension spindles for valves - easy to use, easy to rely on!
Extension spindles allow valves located underground or in hard-to-reach above-ground areas to be operated with ease. AVK extension spindles are use-friendly and manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials using fully automated, state-of-the-art production processes, ensuring consistent performance long-term durability.
Easy of use and long-lasting quality
Our extension spindles are engineered for use-friendly installation, featuring designs that allow quick mounting and straightforward on-site length adjustment. Smooth valve operation is ensured by bottom covers that shield the valve stems from contaminants while allowing free rotation, together with the consistently high, durable quality of the extension spindles that guarantees long-term reliable performance.
Our standard extension spindles feature PE outer tubes and bottom covers, cast stainless-steel key adaptors at the top and stem adaptors at the bottom, and galvanized steel inner tubes. The iiner tube is press-fitted into both adaptors to preserve its corrosion protection. In the final stage of production, each extension spindle undergoes torque testing of up 675 Nm (size-dependent) to verify strength and long-term durability.
Fixed length extension spindles for gate valves and service connection valves
Fixed length extension spindles can be used when the distance between the valve and the ground surface is known. However, fast and easy shortening of the extension spindles is possible because of the patented AVK design with an expanding bolt facilitating length adjustment merely by use of a hacksaw.
Standard fixed length extension spindles:
04/05-001 For service connection valves DN25-50 (Key adaptor #14-22)
04/F-001 For service connection valves DN25-50 (Key adaptor #14.7) 04/06-001 For service connection valves DN25-50 (Key adaptor #23-32) 04/02-001 For gate valves DN40-400 (Key adaptor #23-32) 04/F-010 For gate valves DN40-400 with US type wrench (Key adaptor #23-32)
Fixed length extension spindles with solid inner bar:
04/F-012 For service connection valves DN25-50, with solid inner bar (Key adaptor #14-22)
04/F-013 For gate valves DN40-400, with solid inner bar (Key adaptor #23-32)
Telescopic extension spindles for gate valves and service connection valves
Telescopic extension spindles are typically used when the distance between the valve and the ground surface is known, and length adjustment of the extension spindle will be required after installation.
The top section includes mounting ears that can be fastened into AVK surface boxes and tile supports. A locking spring holds the telescopic section in place during installation by generating friction within the inner tube, ensuring it remains secure when the extension spindle is fully extended. The blue central sleeve acts as a barrier, preventing contaminants from entering the space between the two PE pipes.
Extension spindles are offered with telescopic length ranges from 450-700mm up to 2850-5250 mm. We provide individual datasheets for specific length options. Details on the distance from the top of the pipeline to the top of the installed surface box- for each telescopic length and valve DN, that can be found in the section "Pipe cover for extension spindles"
Standard telescopic extension spindles:
04/F-009 For service connection valves DN25-50 (Key adaptor #14-22)
04/08-001 For service connection valves DN25-50 (Key adaptor #23-32)
04/F-0040 For service connection valves DN25-50 (Key adaptor #14.7, according to DVGW 336)
04/04-001 For gate valves DN450-600 with Ø30 valves stem (Key adaptor #23-32)
04/F-021 For gate valves DN50-600 with US type wrench nut (Key adaptor #23-32)
Telescopic extension spindles for double eccentric butterfly valves
The double eccentric butterfly valve variants provide the same core functions as those used for gate valves. The main distinctions lie in their construction: they feature a speciallydesigned bottom cover that encloses the valve gearbox input shaft, and the extension spindle is secured using a quick‑mounting clip similar to that applied on service connection valves. Extension spindles are offered in four length ranges—450–700 mm, 650–1100 mm, 1050–1750 mm, and 1700–2900 mm—corresponding to valve sizes DN200–600 and DN600–1200.
